Trent Holmberg, MD

Medical Director, Psychiatrist

Dr. Holmberg has been practicing Psychiatry for nearly 20 years. He is a distinguished Psychiatrist with certifications in Psychiatry and Neurology as well as Forensics. He earned a graduate and medical degrees from the University of Utah. He also completed his Residency at the University of Utah Sciences Center in the Department of Psychiatry. He then went to complete a Fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at the University of California – Davis.

Dr. Holmberg has served a number of associations and organization including most recently as President of the Utah Psychiatric Association. He is also a member of the following Organizations: American Psychiatric Association, American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, American Medical Association, Salt Lake County Medical Association, Utah Medical Association, and the Utah Psychiatric Association.

He has worked at large and small facilities including Intermountain Psychiatry and Counseling, Wyoming State Hospital, SL County Adult Detention Complex, and The Center for Change.

Dr. Holmberg is passionate about helping patients reach their full potential and approaches mental health with empathy and compassion for his patients. Dr. Holmberg currently sees patients 18 years and above.

 

Jean Stanford

PA-C

Provo Office

Jean is a board-certified Physician Assistant and has been practicing for over 20 years. Jean has broad experience in healthcare but specializes in mental health and Psychiatric treatment. Previously, she worked in pain management, endocrinology, nephrology and family medicine.

Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, she graduated from WSU and worked as an RRT in Adult and Neonatal Intensive Care Units with Intermountain Healthcare for 18 years.  Jean loves seeing her patients find happiness and peace. She enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and her extended family.  Jean is currently seeing patients 12 years and above.

 

 

Michael Thomas 

DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Provo Office

Dr. Thomas is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. He received post graduate degrees from the University of Utah with training in mental health and Psychiatry.

Currently Dr. Thomas is an Adjunct Faculty member at Brigham Young University. He has also provided clinical services to a number of organizations including Utah Valley Psychiatric and Counseling Clinic, Valley Mental Health and Intermountain Healthcare. Dr. Thomas also belongs to a number of professional associations related to mental health and nursing.

In addition to teaching Dr. Thomas is a passionate advocate for TMS Therapy. Currently he provides TMS to those struggling with treatment resistant depression at Strive Psychiatric and Wellness.

Dr. Thomas is described by his patients as caring and competent. He currently sees patients 18 years and above.

 

Andrea Farmer

APRN, FNP-C

Provo Office

Andrea received undergraduate and post graduate degrees from the University of Utah. She has had broad experience in healthcare but over the past few years has focused her clinical expertise in mental health and Psychiatry.

Andrea has worked at a number of prestigious healthcare organizations in the SLC area including The Huntsman Cancer Hospital & Institute, Jordan Meadows & Hunter Medical Centers, and Granger Medical Clinic: Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine.

Andrea is an empathic advocate for her patients’ mental health. She takes a conservative approach to medication management. She is currently seeing patients 12 years and above.
